What Health Connect data reaches Grok
Health Connect is the Android hub where apps can share health records on the device. Wellness Project reads that hub after permission is granted, stores the supported history, and serves the structured rows to the external assistant over MCP.
It is not the same product as Google Health, the Fitbit-successor account/API source. Health Connect is on-device and can aggregate data from Samsung Health and other Android apps; Google Health is an account source Wellness Project can connect to separately.
Grok does not receive a bulk wearable export. It asks Wellness Project for the supported rows needed for the question, through the authorized custom MCP connector.
How to connect Health Connect to Grok
Your setup screen may look different.

Make sure your Android apps are writing to Health Connect
Open Health Connect and confirm that the apps you care about have permission to write the relevant health categories.
Grant Wellness Project Health Connect access
In the Wellness Project Android app, connect Health Connect and grant read permission for the categories you want to use.
Confirm the shared history is present
Check recent steps, sleep, heart, HRV, and workout rows in Wellness Project. Only data actually written to Health Connect can be read.
Add Wellness Project as a custom connector in Grok
In grok.com, open Settings → Connectors → New Connector → Custom, paste https://wellnessproject.ai/api/mcp, leave Client ID and Client Secret blank, and sign in when Grok opens the Wellness Project authorization flow.
Ask Grok about your real history
Start with a bounded date range and a concrete question. For example: "Which Android health sources contributed data this week, and what categories are available?" The assistant can then request the relevant Wellness Project rows instead of reasoning from a screenshot or one-off export.

Limits of the Health Connect → Wellness Project → Grok path
Health Connect does not create health data. It only shares categories that source apps write into the hub and that you authorize Wellness Project to read.
Google Health and Health Connect are distinct. Do not troubleshoot a Fitbit account/API issue as though it were an Android Health Connect permission issue.
Grok is reading an authorized Wellness Project MCP connection, not a native Health Connect integration supplied by Grok's developer.
Connect Health Connect, then ask Grok.
Sync the supported history into Wellness Project, authorize Grok, and ask questions against your real trend instead of exporting files or pasting screenshots.
