What this actually does
ChatGPT does not read your Android health data by default. Your steps, sleep, heart rate, and HRV live inside Health Connect, the on-device hub every tracker writes to, and ChatGPT has no way in. You can paste a screenshot of last night's sleep and it will read that one image, but it has no memory of your history and no way to pull a trend.
Wellness Project changes that. Your Health Connect data syncs into Wellness Project on-device once you grant permission, and it is stored as structured history: interpreted rows that carry your baseline and your trend, not a raw dump. ChatGPT then reads that history through MCP, so a normal chat can answer questions about your actual Android data.
Because Health Connect gathers Samsung Health, Pixel, and most third-party trackers into one place, connecting it once brings all of them along. You grant a single permission and every device feeding the hub becomes readable in ChatGPT.
How to connect it
Three pieces line up: your Android health data has to reach Wellness Project through Health Connect, the MCP connector has to be added to ChatGPT, and then you ask. Each step takes about a minute.
Sign up free
Create a Wellness Project account and install the app on your Android phone. Free during early access. This account is the persistent store ChatGPT will read through MCP.
Grant Health Connect permissions
Open Health Connect on your Android phone and grant Wellness Project read access to steps, sleep, heart rate, and HRV. Because Samsung Health, Pixel, and most trackers already write into Health Connect, this one permission pulls in every device feeding it. No manual export.
Add the MCP connector to ChatGPT
In your account settings, generate an API key and copy the Wellness Project MCP server URL. In ChatGPT, add it as a connector with that URL and key. It appears across your chats from then on.
Ask across your data
Open a chat and ask. "How did my step count trend this month?" "Did my sleep dip the week my workouts spiked?" "What was my average resting heart rate last week?" ChatGPT pulls the structured rows and answers from your Android history, not a single screenshot.
What to ask once it is connected
The connection is only worth it if the questions get better, and they do. Because ChatGPT reads interpreted Android history rather than today's isolated figure, the useful prompts span time: patterns, baselines, and cause-and-effect across signals.
Ask how your resting heart rate moved across a hard training week. Ask whether your deep sleep tracks with your step count. Ask ChatGPT to flag the week your sleep and workouts both slipped. And because the same server reads every device you connect, those answers pull from Health Connect alongside any Apple Health, Fitbit, or Oura history you add, so the picture is whole instead of split across apps that never compare notes.
Give ChatGPT your real Android health history.
Sync Health Connect to Wellness Project, add the MCP connector to ChatGPT, and ask about your actual trends. Free during early access.
