How to connect the Zepp app to Claude and ChatGPT

There is no Zepp MCP server. The Zepp app already writes your steps, sleep, and heart rate to Apple Health on iPhone or Google Health Connect on Android, and Wellness Project reads that hub and serves the history to Claude and ChatGPT over one MCP connection.

Is there a Zepp MCP server?

There is no Zepp MCP server. The path is the Zepp app to Apple Health or Health Connect to Wellness Project to Claude or ChatGPT, over one MCP connection. Wellness Project is what runs the MCP server, and it reads the same Zepp-synced history whether you ask through Claude or through ChatGPT, so both assistants answer from one identical hub.

Zepp is the companion app that pairs with Amazfit watches and with Zepp-branded hardware alike, so the connection below works the same way no matter which one is on your wrist.

What Zepp writes to your health hub

Zepp exports a defined slice of what it tracks, not everything the watch measures. Steps, sleep (time asleep and the stage breakdown Zepp records), continuous and resting heart rate, and workouts when Zepp logs a session all land in Apple Health or Health Connect. That is the set Wellness Project can read.

What stays inside the Zepp app is anything the hub has no field for: blood oxygen readings, stress scores, Zepp's PAI-style activity score, skin temperature, workout route maps and pace splits, and body composition readings from a paired scale. Those are real numbers in Zepp, they just never cross into Apple Health or Health Connect, so Wellness Project cannot see them either.

Set it up in five steps

Three links, made in order: Zepp into the hub, Wellness Project onto the hub, and the assistant onto Wellness Project.

  1. 1

    Get the Wellness Project app

Download Wellness Project for iPhone or Android with the buttons above, or sign in on the web. Signing in with Apple or Google takes one tap, the account is free during early access, and this is the app that stores your synced history and serves it to Claude and ChatGPT over MCP.

  2. 2

Switch on Zepp's sync to Apple Health or Health Connect

Open Zepp, find the health-sharing or third-party sync setting, and turn on Apple Health (iPhone) or Google Health Connect (Android). Grant the steps, sleep, and heart rate permissions, then sync your watch once so recent days land in the hub.

  3. 3

Connect Wellness Project to that hub

In Wellness Project, connect the same Apple Health or Health Connect hub and allow read access. Wellness Project turns whatever Zepp deposited there into a clean, queryable history instead of raw daily entries.

  4. 4

Add the Wellness Project MCP connector to Claude or ChatGPT

Add Wellness Project as a connector in Claude through MCP, or in ChatGPT through the plugin. One connector covers the whole AI side, the same setup regardless of which Zepp-compatible watch fed the data.

  5. 5

Ask about your data in plain language

Ask Claude or ChatGPT what your resting heart rate has done this month, how your sleep tracks against days you logged a workout, or which week had your highest step count. The assistant answers from your synced Zepp history.

Reading your Zepp history against your own baseline

Zepp already shows you today: steps so far, last night's sleep stages, the resting heart rate blip after a hard session. Wellness Project turns weeks of that into a baseline specific to you, so a coach reading through Claude or ChatGPT compares this week's numbers against your own history rather than a generic range.

Ask about a stretch of time and the comparison holds: sleep against resting heart rate, step count against how heavy the week felt, one metric that drifted against the pattern you set over the prior month. That is the shift from a single Zepp screen to a trend read against your own baseline.

Max Kline reads this for you.

What to ask once it is connected

Once the connector is live, plain questions work best. Try:

  • "How has my resting heart rate moved over the last six weeks?"
  • "Compare my sleep total on days I logged a workout against days I didn't."
  • "Which week this month had my highest step count, and how did sleep look that week?"

Each answer draws on the same structured Zepp history, so the numbers stay consistent whether you ask Claude or ChatGPT.

See your Zepp data in the coach you just connected it to.

Connect Zepp through Apple Health or Health Connect into one AI coach that reads your full history. Free during early access.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a Zepp MCP server for Claude or ChatGPT?+

There is no Zepp MCP server. The path is the Zepp app to Apple Health or Health Connect to Wellness Project to Claude or ChatGPT, over one MCP connection. Wellness Project runs that MCP server, and it reads the same synced Zepp history no matter which assistant you ask.

What is the difference between Zepp, Zepp Life, and Amazfit?+

Amazfit is the watch hardware, not an app. Zepp is the current companion app for Amazfit watches and Zepp-branded devices, and it is the one that writes to Apple Health or Health Connect. Zepp Life is the older app, previously Mi Fit, still used by some earlier Amazfit and Xiaomi devices, and it does not always export to the same hub.

Which health hub does Zepp write to on my phone?+

On iPhone, Zepp writes to Apple Health. On Android, it writes to Google Health Connect. You grant that permission once inside the Zepp app, and Wellness Project then reads from whichever hub matches your phone.

Is my Zepp data safe to connect, and can I revoke it?+

Wellness Project reads structured rows out of Apple Health or Health Connect, steps, sleep, heart rate, and the like, not a copy of the Zepp app itself. Access is revocable at any time from your phone's health permissions or from Wellness Project's connection settings, and revoking it stops the read immediately.

Does it matter which Zepp-compatible watch I wear?+

No. Any device that syncs through the Zepp app and lands in Apple Health or Health Connect works the same way once it reaches the hub, whether it is a Zepp-branded watch or an Amazfit model paired with Zepp.
