How to connect Amazfit (Zepp) to AI (Claude and ChatGPT)

Up front and honest: Amazfit does not connect to Wellness Project directly, and there is no Amazfit or Zepp MCP server. Your Amazfit watch syncs through the Zepp app, which already writes steps, sleep, and heart rate to Apple Health on iPhone or Google Health Connect on Android, Wellness Project reads that hub and structures it, then serves it to Claude and ChatGPT over one MCP connection. The path is Amazfit to Zepp to Apple Health or Health Connect to Wellness Project to Claude or ChatGPT.

How the relay actually works

An Amazfit is the smart move for anyone optimizing on a budget: most of the signal, a fraction of the price. The catch people hit is getting that signal somewhere an AI can read it. So here is the honest map. Wellness Project does not connect to Amazfit directly, and there is no Amazfit or Zepp MCP server.

Your Amazfit watch syncs to the Zepp app (the companion app for current models, formerly the Amazfit app), and Zepp writes steps, sleep, and heart rate into Apple Health on iPhone or Google Health Connect on Android. Wellness Project reads that hub, structures the entries into a clean daily history, and exposes it to Claude and ChatGPT through a single MCP connection. Nothing is pulled out of Zepp through a partner API. Stated plainly: Amazfit to Zepp to Apple Health or Health Connect to Wellness Project to Claude or ChatGPT.

Set it up in four steps

There are three links to make: Zepp into the hub, Wellness Project onto the hub, and the AI onto Wellness Project. Do them in order.

  1. 1

Let the Zepp app write to your phone's health hub

In the Zepp app, open the health-sharing settings and connect Apple Health (iPhone) or Google Health Connect (Android), granting permission to write steps, sleep, and heart rate. Zepp is the intermediary, the hub is where Wellness Project will read. Sync your Amazfit once so recent days land in the hub.

  2. 2

Connect Wellness Project to that hub

In Wellness Project, connect Apple Health or Health Connect and grant read access to steps, sleep, heart rate, workouts, and HRV. Wellness Project now reads whatever Zepp deposited and turns it into a structured, queryable history.

  3. 3

Add the Wellness Project MCP connector to Claude or ChatGPT

Add Wellness Project as a connector in Claude (via MCP) or ChatGPT (via the plugin). That single connector is the whole AI integration, the same no matter which watch or app fed the data. There is no separate Amazfit or Zepp step on the AI side.

  4. 4

Ask about your data in plain language

Ask Claude or ChatGPT whether your sleep is trending down, how your step count tracked against your resting heart rate this month, or which nights wrecked the next day. The AI reads your structured Amazfit history and answers against it.

Once the three links are live, the pipe runs itself. Each new day flows from watch to Zepp to hub to Wellness Project with no further effort.

Why the relay beats an integration you do not have

Optimizing on a budget means squeezing signal out of affordable gear, not chasing a partner badge. The relay fits that mindset. Because Wellness Project reads the same hub your phone already trusts, there is no fragile partner API to break and no extra Zepp login to expire.

The honest tradeoff is freshness: this path is only as current as Zepp's sync to the hub, and only carries the metrics Zepp actually exports. For tracking sleep and activity trends over weeks, that is exactly the resolution you need.

What the AI tells you once your Amazfit data lands

A budget watch and the Zepp app show you today's numbers. A structured history read by an AI shows you the correlations. Ask about the last month and the coach can line your sleep up against resting heart rate, flag the stretch where short nights tracked with a climbing morning pulse, and check whether your step count moved with it.

Against the baseline of glancing at one day in Zepp, that is the jump from cheap hardware to genuine optimization: the same sensors, read for the pattern instead of the snapshot.

Frequently asked questions

Does Wellness Project connect to Amazfit directly?+

No. There is no Amazfit MCP server and no direct Amazfit or Zepp integration. Your Amazfit watch talks to the Zepp app, and Zepp writes your data into Apple Health on iPhone or Google Health Connect on Android. Wellness Project reads that hub. The link is real, it just travels through the health store your phone already keeps rather than a private line to Amazfit.

What is the difference between Amazfit and Zepp?+

Amazfit is the hardware, the watch or band on your wrist. Zepp is the companion app that syncs it and stores the data. Older devices used the Amazfit app, but current watches sync through Zepp. Either way, the app is what writes to Apple Health or Health Connect, and that hub is what Wellness Project reads.

Which metrics come through from a budget Amazfit?+

Whatever Zepp writes to the hub: steps, sleep, and heart rate are the common ones, with resting heart rate and workouts when Zepp records them. Some Amazfit models expose extra readings inside Zepp that never reach Apple Health or Health Connect, and those will not appear, because Wellness Project only reads the shared hub, not the Zepp app internals.

How fresh is the data, and does it work on both platforms?+

Freshness follows Zepp's own sync to the hub, so data appears shortly after your watch syncs to Zepp and Zepp writes to Apple Health or Health Connect, not in real time. It works on both platforms with a caveat: iPhone routes through Apple Health, Android through Google Health Connect. You grant Zepp permission to whichever hub your phone uses, then connect Wellness Project to that same hub.
