Motra for Android
Motra stays on Apple Watch. Wellness Project logs training on Android.
Motra is an iPhone app that uses Apple Watch motion sensing for automatic rep counting, with no Android release. On Android, Wellness Project logs your sets, reps and weight, tracks training load and personal records, and gives an AI coach the same training history to work from.

Motra Android status

Is Motra available on Android?
No. As of September 27, 2026, Motra AI Workout Fitness Coach, built by Train Fitness Inc. and formerly published under the name Train Fitness, runs on iPhone with Apple Watch handling its core automatic rep tracking. There is no Android app and no Google Play listing from Train Fitness Inc.
No official statement from Train Fitness Inc. about Android plans, positive or negative, has surfaced. The only Android app named Train Fitness, from a different developer called Senkron Yazilim, is an unrelated gym membership and booking tool, and Motra's wrist-motion rep counting doesn't reach Android through Health Connect either, since Health Connect can only carry a completed workout summary, not the Apple Watch's own motion sensing.
Which Motra this page is about
This page is about Motra AI Workout Fitness Coach, the Apple Watch strength tracker built by Train Fitness Inc., the same company that used to publish the app under the name Train Fitness.
A completely different app called MOTRA, from MOTRA APP LTD, shares the exact same brand name and runs on both Android and iPhone, but does something unrelated: it converts heart-rate-based "Effort Points" from runs, rides and walks into a monthly $MOT crypto token reward. A separate Android app also called Train Fitness, from Senkron Yazilim, is a gym membership and booking tool. Neither one belongs to Train Fitness Inc. or connects to Wellness Project.
What Motra does, and why Android users go looking for it
Motra is a strength training app built by Train Fitness Inc. around one core idea: an Apple Watch on your wrist can count reps and identify the exercise on its own, so nothing has to be logged by hand. It uses a patented wrist-motion AI model called Neural Kinetic Profiling to recognize more than 470 exercise types from Apple Watch motion alone, requires an Apple Watch Series 4 or newer to run that core feature, and pairs it with an iPhone companion app. On top of the automatic tracking it adds AI-generated workouts it calls Smart Weights, built from recovery, goals and fitness data, a daily muscle recovery score across three stages (Recovered, Moderately Fatigued, Heavily Fatigued), and training load tracking derived from the lifts it detects.
It also imports workouts logged in other apps through Apple Health, exports its own data as a CSV file, and can import a CSV, XLSX or XLS workout file back in. The app is trusted by a self-reported 100,000+ weight lifters, and its hands-free, no-manual-logging pitch is the reason people gravitate to it.
Android searches for Motra usually come from an Apple Watch owner who switched to an Android phone or a Wear OS watch and lost the automatic rep counting that came with it, a training partner who mentions it, or someone who found the unrelated Android app named MOTRA and wants to know whether it is the same product.
SIDE BY SIDE
Motra vs. Wellness Project for Android
Motra and Wellness Project take different approaches to the same job. Motra senses your reps from an Apple Watch; here is what an Android lifter can use today.
| Feature | Motra | Wellness Project |
|---|---|---|
| Native Android app | Not available | Available |
| Google Play | No Google Play listing | Available on Google Play |
| Automatic rep and exercise detection | 470+ exercises recognized from Apple Watch motion alone, no manual logging | Log sets, reps and weight by chat, manual Train flow or import |

What Android users can use instead for strength training
Motra's wrist-motion detection stays on Apple Watch. These are the closest Wellness Project capabilities on Android.
Log sets, reps and weight
Log a workout by chatting with the AI coach, through the manual Train flow, or from an imported source.
See workout tracking →AI-built workouts
Build a workout from plain language with Jamie Reyes, the AI hypertrophy coach, instead of an on-wrist model.
Meet Jamie Reyes →Training load and volume
Training volume and estimated 1RM update from your logged sets rather than Watch-detected motion.
Learn about training load →Muscle fatigue tracking
A muscle fatigue heat map estimates recovery from recent training instead of a fixed three-stage score.
See the muscle fatigue heat map →Personal records
1RM PR, rep PR and a Normalized Strength Index track progress as your logged lifts add up.
See personal records →Health Connect sync
Logged workouts can be saved back to Health Connect so other Android health apps can use them.

What Wellness Project doesn't replicate from Motra
Motra's Apple Watch motion sensing is specific to Motra, and some of it has no equivalent on Android today.
No Apple Watch app or automatic rep detection
Wellness Project has no Apple Watch app and no Wear OS app, and it doesn't sense reps from wrist motion the way Motra's Neural Kinetic Profiling model does. Workouts get logged by chat, manual entry or import instead.
See Health Connect support →No three-stage muscle recovery score
Motra's daily score labels each muscle group Recovered, Moderately Fatigued or Heavily Fatigued from Watch-detected training. Wellness Project's muscle fatigue heat map is an estimate from recent training, not that same staged label.
See the muscle fatigue heat map →No XLSX or XLS import
Motra can import an XLSX or XLS workout file in addition to CSV. Wellness Project imports CSV files only, mapped by AI and reviewed row by row before saving.

ANDROID
Made for the health tools Android users already use
You shouldn't have to switch to an iPhone to keep one connected health and training history.
Wellness Project treats Health Connect as an important part of the Android health ecosystem rather than treating Android as a stripped-down afterthought.
That lets supported data from services such as Fitbit, Oura, compatible Health Connect apps and supported smart scales become part of one history instead of living in separate dashboards.
One profile instead of another data silo
Your health data becomes more useful when training, recovery, nutrition and body trends can be seen together.

FIVE-STAR REVIEWS
What Wellness Project users are saying
“This is the fitness app we’ve all been waiting for! No more copy-and-pasting data into AI, uploading new information, and asking the same questions repeatedly. Everything is tracked in one place, and the AI actually understands your fitness journey. The fitness coach can review your workouts while the nutritionist uses that information to recommend better meals and protein intake. It feels less like a fitness tracker and more like having a team of AI coaches who know your goals and progress.”
“As someone obsessed with collecting and tracking my data, this app is everything I imagined. I was trying to get Claude to do all this myself but Wellness Project is 1000x more sophisticated. I use it for getting feedback on and planning my workouts, making data driven decisions.”
“I’ve not written a review for ages but the responsiveness of the developer is amazing and I mean amazing same day fixes. It’s so easy to use as the AI works things out from a basic input, plus it reads all your apple health data such as workouts, steps, heart rate from the watch and combines everything into recommendations.”
More than a way to keep counting reps
If you're searching for Motra on Android, the immediate loss is usually the hands-free part: an Apple Watch that recognized the exercise and counted the rep without you touching a phone. Switching to an Android phone, or pairing a Wear OS watch, drops that automatic detection, since it only runs through an Apple Watch paired to an iPhone.
Wellness Project isn't built to replicate wrist-motion sensing. It's built around a different idea: sets, reps, weight and training load should stay in one history an AI coach can read, whether you log them by chat, by hand, or by importing them from wherever you trained before.
That matters past this one comparison. A training history is worth more when it keeps working after the watch, the phone, or the tracking method changes.
Frequently asked questions
Is Motra available on Android?
No. As of September 27, 2026, Motra AI Workout Fitness Coach, built by Train Fitness Inc., runs on iPhone and Apple Watch, with no Android app and no announced release for one.
Is there a Motra app on Google Play?
No. Train Fitness Inc. has no Motra listing on Google Play. An unrelated app also named MOTRA, from MOTRA APP LTD, and a separate unrelated app named Train Fitness, from Senkron Yazilim, both exist on Google Play, but neither is the same product.
What is the best Motra alternative for Android?
Wellness Project. It logs sets, reps, weight and training load with an AI coach on Android, though it has no Apple Watch app and no automatic motion-based rep detection the way Motra does.
Can Motra's automatic rep counting work on an Android phone or Wear OS watch?
No. Motra detects reps and exercises from Apple Watch motion sensing, requires an Apple Watch Series 4 or newer, and has no Wear OS or Android equivalent.
Will my Motra workout history transfer to Wellness Project?
Motra exports its workout data as a CSV file, and Wellness Project's CSV import can map that file's columns with AI and let you review every row before it saves.
Is the Android app called MOTRA the same as Train Fitness Inc.'s Motra?
No. MOTRA, from MOTRA APP LTD, converts heart-rate effort from runs, rides and walks into a monthly $MOT crypto token reward. It shares the brand name but is a separate company and a different product from Train Fitness Inc.'s Apple Watch strength tracker.
Does Wellness Project track training load like Motra does?
Yes. Wellness Project tracks training volume and estimated 1RM from your logged sets, though that comes from what you log or import rather than Watch-detected motion.
Does Wellness Project work with Apple Health for watch-based workout data?
Yes. Wellness Project reads supported workout and health data from Apple Health, and its Save to Apple Health toggle writes its own logged workouts back to the same store.
