Ladder for Android
Ladder isn't on Android. Your strength training can be.
Ladder is an iPhone and Apple Watch app with no Android release. Wellness Project runs natively on Android and logs the sets, reps, weight and progression a lifter actually needs to track.

Is Ladder available on Android?
No. As of September 27, 2026, Ladder Strength Training Plans is built by Ladder Technologies, Inc. and runs on iPhone, with an Apple Watch companion for real-time metrics during a workout. There is no Android build and no Google Play listing.
In a November 2024 funding announcement, Ladder said it planned to develop an Android version. Nearly two years later, no Android app has shipped, so that plan stays unconfirmed as delivered. Searching Google Play for "Ladder" today does not surface Ladder Technologies at all, only unrelated apps that happen to share the name.
Which Ladder this page is about
This page is about Ladder Strength Training Plans, the coach-led strength app from Ladder Technologies, Inc. Google Play has several unrelated apps also named Ladder: an investing and stock app, a CDC occupational ladder-safety app, a UK ladder-safety trade body app, an agility ladder speed-drill app, a trading card price tracker called Card Ladder, and a sports league scheduler called Slappy: Sports Ladder App.
None of those are the strength training app people are searching for here. If you want to keep training with sets, reps, weight and progression on Android, Wellness Project is the one built for that.
What Ladder does, and why Android users go looking for it
Ladder is a coach-led strength training app: a real coach programs a daily workout that changes week to week, with in-ear audio coaching and video demonstrations for each movement. It plays through the workout with a built-in rest timer and Spotify or Apple Music auto-ducking when the coach speaks, and it adds team and community features with leaderboards. It syncs completed workouts to Apple Health and shows real-time metrics on Apple Watch during a workout. In October 2025 it added Ladder Nutrition, a food-tracking layer alongside the strength programming.
It has been an App Store Editors' Choice pick and was named a finalist in Apple's 2025 App of the Year coverage, which is a common way Android users hear about it in the first place.
People end up searching for Ladder on Android after switching from iPhone and wanting to keep the same programming, or after a training partner or gym friend recommends it and they discover it never left iOS. A Google Play search for it turns up nothing from Ladder Technologies, which is usually the moment someone starts looking for an alternative.
SIDE BY SIDE
Ladder vs. Wellness Project for Android
Comparing platforms here does not mean pretending Ladder and Wellness Project are the same kind of app. Ladder is a coach-led strength app built specifically for iPhone and Apple Watch, and the question below is what an Android lifter can use today.
| Feature | Ladder | Wellness Project |
|---|---|---|
| Native Android app | Not available | Available |
| Google Play | No Google Play listing | Available on Google Play |
| Daily programming | Coach-programmed plan that changes weekly | Build a workout from plain language with an AI hypertrophy coach |
| Sets, reps and weight logging | Logged through the coach-programmed workout | Log sets, reps, weight and RPE, by chat, manual entry or import |
| In-workout guidance | In-ear audio coaching and video demonstrations, iPhone only | Perform a planned workout, edit sets and use an exercise timer |
| Music integration during workouts | Spotify or Apple Music auto-ducking when the coach speaks | No built-in music integration; workouts log independently of a music app |
| Community and coaching | Team features, leaderboards and a real human coach | Challenges with friends and AI specialists reading your training history |
| Nutrition tracking | Ladder Nutrition, added October 2025, iPhone only | Log meals by chat, photo, barcode or manual entry with macro tracking |

What Android users can use instead for strength training
Ladder's programming is coach-led. Wellness Project builds the same kind of structured strength work from plain language and tracks what happens after the workout ends.
Log sets, reps and weight
Log a workout by chatting with the AI coach, through the manual Train flow, or from an imported source, with sets, reps, weight and RPE.
See workout tracking →AI-built programming
Jamie Reyes, the AI hypertrophy coach, builds a workout from plain language instead of picking from a fixed template.
Meet Jamie Reyes →Personal records
Track 1RM PR and rep PR alongside estimated 1RM and a Normalized Strength Index as your lifts progress.
See personal records →Progressive overload
A saved workout library and full workout history make it possible to see progressive overload over time, not just today's session.
Learn about progressive overload →Nutrition tracking
Log meals by chat, manual entry, meal photo or barcode scan, with calories, protein, carbs and fat tracked alongside training.
See nutrition tracking →Training volume
See training volume and progression trends across your saved workout history, not just one session.
See workout analysis →THE HONEST PART
What Wellness Project doesn't replace
Ladder is built around a real coach and Apple Watch, and some of that stays specific to Ladder.
No human coach programming your week
Ladder's programming comes from a real coach who changes the plan weekly. Wellness Project builds a workout from plain language through Jamie Reyes, the AI hypertrophy coach, instead of a human coach.
Meet Jamie Reyes →No Apple Watch or Wear OS app
Wellness Project has no watch app of its own. Workout data arrives through Health Connect on Android or Apple Health on iPhone once a connected source writes it there.
See Health Connect support →No in-ear audio coaching or movement videos
Ladder plays audio coaching and video demonstrations during a workout. Wellness Project logs and analyzes the workout rather than narrating it in real time.
No team leaderboards
Ladder's team and community leaderboards are specific to Ladder. Wellness Project offers challenges with friends on steps or personal records instead.

ANDROID
Made for the health tools Android users already use
You shouldn't have to switch to an iPhone to keep one connected health and training history.
Wellness Project treats Health Connect as an important part of the Android health ecosystem rather than treating Android as a stripped-down afterthought.
That lets supported data from services such as Fitbit, Oura, compatible Health Connect apps and supported smart scales become part of one history instead of living in separate dashboards.
One profile instead of another data silo
Your health data becomes more useful when training, recovery, nutrition and body trends can be seen together.

FIVE-STAR REVIEWS
What Wellness Project users are saying
“This is one of the most comprehensive wellness apps available. My wearable device data migrates seamlessly. But it’s not about the data. It’s about what to do with that data. If you want to be strong, healthy, and live a quality life, this app is for you.”
“I decided not to reinvent the wheel and have been testing multiple apps since early 2026. This one so far has been the most exciting. New features have been introduced nearly weekly it feels, and the AI integration, particularly being able to connect your own account, has been far and away the most useful feature.”
“Wellness Project is doing an amazing job at not only analyzing my health data, but also allowing me to push it into a model for further analysis and insights. They’re always adding new features and take feedback seriously. I use this app multiple times a day, which is saying something as I don’t go on my phone very often.”
More than a Ladder replacement
If you're searching for Ladder on Android, the immediate problem is usually a phone switch: you were following a coach-programmed plan on iPhone and want to keep training the same way on a new device.
Wellness Project isn't built to copy Ladder's coach-led format. It's built around a different idea: sets, reps, weight and progression should stay in one history that an AI coach can actually read, whichever phone you carry.
A lifting history that survives a phone switch, a new watch or a new gym is worth more than a plan that only runs on one platform.
Frequently asked questions
Is Ladder available on Android?
No. As of September 27, 2026, Ladder Strength Training Plans is built for iPhone with an Apple Watch companion, and has no Android app or announced release date for one.
Is there a Ladder app on Google Play?
No. Ladder Technologies, Inc. does not have a listing on Google Play. Searching Google Play for "Ladder" today surfaces only unrelated apps, not the strength training app.
What is the best Ladder alternative for Android?
Wellness Project. It runs natively on Android and logs sets, reps, weight, RPE and progression with an AI hypertrophy coach, though it does not offer a human coach or team leaderboards the way Ladder does.
Can I use my Ladder programs on Android?
No. Ladder's coach-programmed plans exist inside the iPhone app itself, so there is no way to bring that programming to an Android device. You would start a new training history in whatever app you use on Android.
Did Ladder ever announce an Android version?
Yes. In a November 2024 funding announcement, Ladder said it planned to develop an Android version. As of September 27, 2026, no Android app has appeared on Google Play, so that plan is unconfirmed as delivered.
Does Ladder Nutrition work on Android?
No. Ladder Nutrition, added in October 2025, is part of the same iPhone-only app and has no Android equivalent.
Does Wellness Project track personal records like Ladder's progression?
Yes. Wellness Project tracks 1RM PR, rep PR, estimated 1RM, training volume and a muscle fatigue heat map from your logged workouts.
Does Wellness Project work with Health Connect?
Yes. Wellness Project reads supported Android health and fitness data through Health Connect, including workouts, steps and heart rate from connected devices.
Is Wellness Project also available on iPhone?
Yes. Wellness Project is available on iPhone as well as Android and web, so the same lifting history follows you across a phone switch.
