How to connect Samsung Health to Claude

Samsung Health has no direct Wellness Project integration. On Android, Samsung Health syncs into Google Health Connect, and Wellness Project reads Health Connect and serves your Galaxy Watch history to Claude over MCP.

What Claude can and cannot see

If you wear a Galaxy Watch, the numbers you actually check are steps, sleep, and heart rate, and those are exactly what cross the bridge. Samsung Health writes steps and distance, heart rate readings with zones, sleep duration broken into stages, and workout sessions into Google Health Connect, and Wellness Project reads that same feed and hands it to Claude.

What stays inside Samsung Health stays out. Health Connect only carries what Samsung Health has chosen to write into it, so anything Samsung keeps app-side, like in-app coaching scores or device diagnostics, does not cross. Claude sees your synced history, not a live feed from the watch itself, and it cannot open the Samsung Health app or change anything in it.

Is there a Samsung Health MCP server?

There is no Samsung Health MCP server. The path is Samsung Health to Google Health Connect to Wellness Project to Claude, over one MCP connection. Once Samsung Health is relaying into Health Connect, Wellness Project's single MCP server exposes that history to Claude the same way it exposes every other connected device, so the missing direct integration does not actually block anything you want to ask.

Set it up in five steps

Four pieces line up: Samsung Health feeding Health Connect, Wellness Project reading that hub, the MCP connector added to Claude, and then your question. Only the middle two need any action from you, and both are one-time.

  1. 1

    Get the Wellness Project app

Download Wellness Project for iPhone or Android with the buttons above, or sign in on the web. Signing in with Apple or Google takes one tap, the account is free during early access, and this is the app that stores your synced history and serves it to Claude and ChatGPT over MCP.

  2. 2

Let Samsung Health sync to Google Health Connect

Open Samsung Health settings on your Galaxy phone and confirm Health Connect permissions are turned on for steps, heart rate, sleep, and workouts. Samsung Health already writes this data into Google Health Connect in the background once permissions are granted, so there is nothing to export.

  3. 3

Connect Wellness Project to that hub

In Wellness Project, open integrations and choose Health Connect. Approve the permission prompt on your Android phone and your synced Galaxy Watch history starts flowing in.

  4. 4

Add the Wellness Project MCP connector to Claude

In claude.ai, add wellnessproject.ai/api/mcp as a custom connector and authorize it with your Wellness Project account. Claude Desktop picks up the same connector from claude.ai.

  5. 5

Ask about your data in plain language

Open a chat and ask about your Galaxy Watch sleep, steps, or heart rate. Claude reads the structured rows Health Connect relayed in and answers from your real history.

Reading Galaxy Watch trends against your own baseline

A single night of Galaxy Watch sleep does not say much on its own. Read across months, sleep consistency does: the nights you actually hit your usual bedtime against the nights you drifted, compared to your own baseline rather than a generic eight-hour target.

Resting heart rate works the same way. Claude can read your Galaxy Watch resting heart rate across a full quarter and compare this month against your own prior average, so a stretch that runs five points above your baseline stands out as a real change against your history, not a guess from a single reading.

Evelyn Cross reads this for you.

What to ask Claude once it is connected

The prompts worth asking are the ones that span weeks, since Claude is reading your synced history rather than a single reading off the watch face.

  • "How has my Galaxy Watch sleep duration trended over the last two months?"
  • "What was my average daily step count last week compared to the week before?"
  • "Has my resting heart rate moved against my usual baseline this month?"

Give Claude your real Galaxy Watch history.

Sync Samsung Health into Google Health Connect, add the Wellness Project MCP connector to Claude, and ask about your actual sleep and heart rate trends. Free during early access.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a Samsung Health MCP server?+

There is no Samsung Health MCP server. The path is Samsung Health to Google Health Connect to Wellness Project to Claude, over one MCP connection. Wellness Project's MCP server reads whatever is synced into Health Connect, Samsung Health included, so Claude answers questions about your Galaxy Watch history the same way it would for any directly connected device.

Does this need an Android phone?+

Yes. Google Health Connect is an Android-only data layer, so the Samsung Health bridge only works on an Android phone. If you carry an iPhone, Samsung Health does not write into Apple Health, so this particular path does not apply to you.

What Galaxy Watch metrics cross into Wellness Project?+

Health Connect relays steps and distance, heart rate readings with zones, sleep duration broken into stages, and workout sessions with pace, duration, and calories. Body composition or weight entries from a connected Samsung scale can cross too, if that scale writes to Health Connect. Not every field every Galaxy device records makes it through, since Health Connect only carries what Samsung Health has chosen to write into it.

Is my Samsung Health data safe over MCP?+

Claude does not get a copy of your whole Health Connect history. Through MCP it requests specific rows during an active conversation, and only those rows travel. Access is gated by a connection you can revoke from your Wellness Project settings at any time.

Does this work with ChatGPT too?+

Yes. The same Samsung Health to Health Connect to Wellness Project relay feeds a ChatGPT connector as well as the Claude MCP connector, so you are not choosing one assistant over the other.
