How to connect Coros to AI (Claude and ChatGPT)

Straight answer first: Coros does not connect to Wellness Project directly, and there is no Coros MCP server. Your Coros app already writes workouts, heart rate, and sleep to Apple Health on iPhone or Google Health Connect on Android, Wellness Project reads that hub and structures it, then serves it to Claude and ChatGPT over one MCP connection. The route is Coros to Apple Health or Health Connect to Wellness Project to Claude or ChatGPT.

How the relay actually works

Coros runners tend to be loyal for a reason: the battery lasts, the data is clean, and the training tools respect the sport. What Coros does not do is talk to Wellness Project directly, and there is no Coros MCP server. So how does an AI end up reading your runs? Through the health hub your phone already keeps.

The Coros app syncs your watch, then writes workouts, heart rate, and sleep into Apple Health on iPhone or Google Health Connect on Android. Wellness Project reads that hub, structures the entries into a proper training history, and exposes it to Claude and ChatGPT through a single MCP connection. No data is pulled out of Coros through a partner API. Stated plainly, the route is Coros to Apple Health or Health Connect to Wellness Project to Claude or ChatGPT.

Set it up in four steps

Three links do the work: Coros into the hub, Wellness Project onto the hub, and the AI onto Wellness Project. Work through them in order.

  1. 1

Let the Coros app write to your phone's health hub

In the Coros app, turn on the export to Apple Health (iPhone) or Google Health Connect (Android) and allow it to write workouts, heart rate, and sleep. The Coros app is the intermediary, the hub is where Wellness Project reads. Sync your watch once so recent runs land in the hub.

  2. 2

Connect Wellness Project to that hub

In Wellness Project, connect Apple Health or Health Connect and grant read access to workouts, heart rate, sleep, steps, and HRV. Wellness Project now reads whatever Coros deposited and organizes it into a structured, queryable training log.

  3. 3

Add the Wellness Project MCP connector to Claude or ChatGPT

Add Wellness Project as a connector in Claude (via MCP) or ChatGPT (via the plugin). That single connector is the entire AI integration, and it is the same one whether your data came from a Coros, a phone, or a ring. There is no separate Coros step here.

  4. 4

Ask about your running in plain language

Ask Claude or ChatGPT whether your mileage is ramping too fast, how your heart rate behaved on your last long run, or whether recovery kept pace with a hard week. The AI reads your structured Coros history and answers against it.

After those three links are set, the pipe runs itself. Each new run moves from watch to Coros app to hub to Wellness Project without you touching anything.

Why the relay beats an integration you do not have

Coros users care about a training block holding together, not about a logo on a partner page. The relay serves that. Because Wellness Project reads the same hub your phone already trusts, there is no brittle partner API to break and no extra Coros login to expire.

The honest tradeoff is freshness: this path is only as current as the Coros app export into the hub. For endurance coaching that plays out over weeks of mileage and recovery, that cadence is exactly right.

What the AI tells you once your Coros data lands

One screen in the Coros app shows a single run. A structured history read by an AI shows the block. Ask about the last month and the coach can line up your weekly volume against resting heart rate, catch the week your long-run heart rate crept up at the same pace, and check whether sleep recovered between your hardest efforts.

Against the baseline of scrolling one workout at a time, that is the jump from data you own to coaching you can act on. The AI reads the arc of the training, not just today's file.

Frequently asked questions

Does Wellness Project connect to Coros directly?+

No. There is no Coros MCP server and no direct Coros integration. The Coros app writes your runs and recovery metrics into Apple Health on iPhone or Google Health Connect on Android, and Wellness Project reads that hub. The link is genuine, it just travels through the health store your phone already maintains rather than a private connection to Coros.

Will my long runs and training load show up?+

Your workouts and heart rate come through whatever the Coros app writes to the hub, so runs, distance, pace, and heart rate arrive once Coros deposits them in Apple Health or Health Connect. Coros computes some training-load metrics inside its own app that it may not export, and anything that never reaches the hub will not appear, because Wellness Project only reads the shared store.

How current is the data by the time the AI reads it?+

It is as current as the Coros app's sync to Apple Health or Health Connect. Once your watch syncs to the Coros app and the app writes to the hub, Wellness Project picks it up on its next read. This path has no real-time push, so a session appears shortly after your watch and phone finish syncing, not the moment you finish.

Is Coros better supported on iPhone or Android?+

The relay works on both, with a platform caveat. iPhone routes through Apple Health and Android routes through Google Health Connect. Coros export into Apple Health is well established for runners, so if you are on iPhone that is the smoothest path. On Android you grant the Coros app permission to Health Connect instead. The Claude and ChatGPT side is identical either way.
