How to connect Coros to ChatGPT

Coros has no direct Wellness Project integration. What it does have is a habit of writing your workouts and daily metrics into Apple Health on iPhone or Health Connect on Android. Wellness Project reads that hub, and ChatGPT reads Wellness Project. That is the whole path, and it works today.

What ChatGPT can and cannot see

Once the hub is connected, ChatGPT can see whatever the Coros app hands to Apple Health or Health Connect: your workouts, distance, pace, heart rate, and sleep. That is enough for it to line up a run against your heart rate or check how sleep held up after a hard week.

What ChatGPT cannot see is the layer Coros keeps for itself. Training Load, EvoLab fitness and freshness scores, and similar Coros-proprietary readings are computed inside the Coros app and often do not export to the phone's health hub. If a metric never reaches Apple Health or Health Connect, Wellness Project has no way to read it, and neither does ChatGPT.

Is there a Coros MCP server?

There is no Coros MCP server. The path is Coros to the Coros app to Apple Health or Health Connect to Wellness Project to ChatGPT, over one MCP connection. Wellness Project runs that MCP server, reading the workouts, heart rate, and sleep the Coros app writes to your phone's health hub and structuring them into a training log ChatGPT can query.

Once your Coros app is writing to the hub and Wellness Project is reading it, the setup is done and that one connection carries every new run automatically. There is no Coros connector to add inside ChatGPT itself, and nothing to rebuild each week.

Set it up in five steps

Three links carry your training data from watch to chat: Coros into the hub, Wellness Project onto the hub, and ChatGPT onto Wellness Project. Set each one up once.

  1. 1

    Get the Wellness Project app

Download Wellness Project for iPhone or Android with the buttons above, or sign in on the web. Signing in with Apple or Google takes one tap, the account is free during early access, and this is the app that stores your synced history and serves it to Claude and ChatGPT over MCP.

  2. 2

Let the Coros app write to your phone's health hub

In the Coros app, turn on the export to Apple Health on iPhone or Health Connect on Android, and allow it to write workouts, heart rate, and sleep. Sync your watch once so recent runs land in the hub before you connect anything else.

  3. 3

Connect Wellness Project to that hub

In Wellness Project, connect Apple Health or Health Connect and grant read access to workouts, heart rate, sleep, and pace. Wellness Project now organizes whatever Coros deposited into a structured training log.

  4. 4

Add the Wellness Project MCP connector to ChatGPT

Add Wellness Project as a plugin in ChatGPT and authenticate with the key from your account settings. This one connection is how ChatGPT reads your Coros history from here on, so you set it up once rather than pasting a workout each time.

  5. 5

Ask about your data in plain language

Open a chat and ask about your training. ChatGPT pulls the structured rows behind your Coros runs and answers from your real history instead of a single pasted screen.

What a race build looks like across months, not one run

A single Coros activity screen tells you how one run went. Ask ChatGPT about the last twelve weeks and it can hold the whole build: whether your long-run pace kept improving as volume climbed, which weeks your heart rate drifted higher for the same effort, and whether your taper actually matched the plan instead of just the calendar.

Because Wellness Project holds every device you connect, not just Coros, ChatGPT can also set your runs next to recovery signals from somewhere else, a ring or a scale you sync separately, so a hard training block gets checked against sleep and readiness the Coros watch never measured. That cross-device read is the part a single app, however good its own screen is, cannot give you.

Elias Kiptoo reads this for you.

What to ask ChatGPT once it is connected

The prompts worth asking are the ones a single Coros screen cannot answer, because they span weeks instead of one activity.

Try "How has my easy-pace heart rate trended over this training block?" or "Did my long-run pace hold up as my weekly mileage went up?" or "Which week this training cycle had the biggest gap between planned and actual mileage?" ChatGPT answers from your structured Coros history, not a screenshot of today's run.

Let ChatGPT read your whole Coros training block.

Relay Coros through Apple Health or Health Connect into Wellness Project, connect ChatGPT once, and ask about the arc of your training instead of one run at a time. Free during early access.

Frequently asked questions

Can ChatGPT read my Coros data directly?+

There is no Coros MCP server. The path is Coros to the Coros app to Apple Health or Health Connect to Wellness Project to ChatGPT, over one MCP connection. Once that connection exists, ChatGPT reads your Coros history the same way it reads any other connected device, through Wellness Project rather than through Coros itself.

What Coros data actually reaches ChatGPT?+

Whatever the Coros app writes to Apple Health or Health Connect: workouts, heart rate, and sleep, structured into a training log Wellness Project can serve. Metrics Coros computes and keeps inside its own app, such as Training Load or EvoLab scores, often do not cross into the hub, so ask ChatGPT about pace, distance, heart rate, and sleep rather than a Coros-specific score.

Is my Coros data safe once ChatGPT is connected?+

ChatGPT does not receive a bulk export of your training history. It requests specific rows during an active conversation through the MCP connection, and only those rows travel. The connection is authenticated with a key you generate in your account settings, and revoking that key cuts ChatGPT off immediately.

Can Claude read the same Coros history?+

Yes. The same structured Coros history sits behind one MCP server, so Claude reads it through its connector exactly the way ChatGPT reads it through the plugin. Set up the hub once and both assistants can read from it.
