Garmin sync: what works today

There is no direct Garmin integration in Wellness Project yet. Garmin data reaches us today by relaying through Apple Health on iPhone or Health Connect on Android, the same path Whoop and Samsung use. Here is how that works, and a place to tell us a direct connection matters to you.

The short answer

Garmin has no direct connection into Wellness Project today. The working path is a relay: Garmin Connect writes your data into Apple Health on iPhone or Health Connect on Android, and Wellness Project reads that hub. Whoop and Samsung reach us the same way. Fitbit, Oura, Withings, and Apple Health connect directly, with no relay step.

That relay works today and is worth setting up if you want your Garmin history in Wellness Project now. Below it, this page also collects interest in a direct Garmin connection, separate from the relay.

Set up the relay in three steps

  1. 1

Turn on Garmin Connect's health sync

On iPhone, open Garmin Connect, go to Settings, then Apple Health, and turn on the categories you want shared: steps, workouts, heart rate, and sleep. On Android, grant Garmin Connect permission to write to Health Connect. This is the step that puts your Garmin data somewhere Wellness Project can read it.

  2. 2

Connect Apple Health or Health Connect in Wellness Project

In Wellness Project, open integrations and connect Apple Health or Health Connect, then grant read access. Whatever Garmin Connect has written into the hub syncs into your Wellness Project history from there.

  3. 3

Read it in the app, Claude, or ChatGPT

Once the history is in Wellness Project, it shows up in the app directly, and Claude or ChatGPT can read it over the Wellness Project MCP connector, the same one Fitbit and Oura data flows through.

Tell us a direct connection matters

The relay above works, but it is an extra step Fitbit and Oura users skip. If you would rather Garmin connect directly, leave your email below. We count it as demand for a direct integration.

Tell us you want direct Garmin sync

Leave your email and we will count it toward Garmin demand. This is not an account and does not require the app.

Garmin data reads the same way once it lands

Whether Garmin data arrives through the relay today or a direct connection later, it lands in the same structured history as every other device: steps, sleep, heart rate, workouts, and HRV where Garmin Connect exports it. Claude and ChatGPT read that history through one MCP connector, so a Garmin watch alongside Apple Health, Fitbit, or Oura all sit in one place.

Elias Kiptoo reads this for you.

Frequently asked questions

Does Garmin sync directly with Wellness Project?+

No, not today. There is no direct Garmin integration. Garmin data reaches Wellness Project by relaying through Apple Health on iPhone or Health Connect on Android, the same path Whoop and Samsung use. Fitbit, Oura, Withings, and Apple Health connect directly.

How do I get my Garmin data into Wellness Project today?+

Turn on the Apple Health or Health Connect sync toggle inside the Garmin Connect app, choosing the categories you want shared. Then connect Apple Health or Health Connect inside Wellness Project. Whatever Garmin Connect has written into that hub, steps, sleep, heart rate, workouts, and HRV where Garmin Connect exports it, syncs into your Wellness Project history from there.

Is there a Garmin MCP server?+

No. There is no Garmin MCP server today, from us or anyone else. Wellness Project runs its own MCP server and serves whatever Garmin Connect has already synced into Apple Health or Health Connect to Claude, ChatGPT, and other MCP clients over one connection.

What happens after I join the Garmin interest list?+

Nothing requires an account or the app. We use the count of interest to decide what to build next. If a direct Garmin connection ships, the email you leave is how we would reach you about it.
